With Stitcher 2.4.0 you can now export VR180 video and so, 3D video shot by Insta360 Pro 1 and Pro 2 both now support VR180 video export.

The Differences Between VR180 Proximity Mode and Standard Mode
Here’s a rundown to get the most out of it:
VR180 video supported by Stitcher has two modes Proximity, and Standard mode.
Proximity Mode is designed for shooting objects close to the camera. The safe shooting distance is 50cm. The range of the 3D effect from center to top is 90°~140°, and at the edges, a 25° area will be filled by 2D imagery.

Standard Mode is designed for shooting objects farther away from the camera. The safe shooting distance is roughly 1.5m, which is the same as the 3D modes for the Pro 1 and Pro 2, and the angle of the 3D effect is a full 180°.

Proximity Mode uses two lenses, whereas Standard Mode uses four lenses on the left and right sides of the camera battery cover, both modes use new stitching algorithms to stitch a VR180 picture. Compared to the Standard Mode, the Proximity Mode has a shorter shooting safety distance and fewer seams, but at the expense of the full 180° angle of the 3D effect. Users can select shooting mode to suit the scene.
Shooting VR180
When shooting a VR180 video, please pay attention to the camera's battery cover orientation relative to the center of the scene you want to shoot. This will be the center of the final VR180 video. In addition, please ensure that any moving objects close to the camera are within the camera's safe shooting distance and 3D effect angle. Please note that the video must be 360° 3D if you want to export VR180 video.

Stabilization and Exporting
Because of Proximity Mode's two lenses limit and angle limit, stabilization is not supported, so it is limited to shooting in fixed positions. The Standard mode with 4 lenses can use Basic Stabilization, which is designed for scenes with a small range of motion, such as handheld walking. However, FlowState Stabilization is not currently supported.
If the video is shot with Pro 2, we recommend that you try using the original offset settings. In most cases, you will get better stitching and stabilization. For the Pro 1, we recommend first previewing the video and adjusting the reference frame to improve stitching.

In addition to Stitcher's own support for VR180 video exporting, our Premiere plugin also supports the VR180 videos. The workflow of the plugin is unchanged, it can be directly edited and exported after being imported to Premiere. If you want to upload the video to Youtube, please export the VR180 video and use Google's official VR180 Creator (download address: https://vr.google.com/vr180/apps/) to add specific video information, you can upload it.

We hope you enjoy using our all-new VR180 modes for the Insta360 Pro and Pro 2!
